UniProt website
Research and design for the UniProt website, where most of the world's protein data gets looked up. I work across the interface so that dense biological data is easier to find, read, and actually use.

Hi, I'm a UX engineer working on UniProt at the European Bioinformatics Institute (EMBL-EBI), where I focus on making complex life sciences tools intuitive and accessible. My work spans qualitative and quantitative research, design, UX writing, and front-end development. I uncover how scientists navigate biological data and translate those insights into product improvements, keeping the connection between user insight and final product as direct as possible.

A big look at how researchers really use UniProt. I paired server logs with qualitative work to catch the patterns people don't think to mention, then fed them back into the design.
A quiet people-counter for the shared spaces of a women-only co-living house in Seoul. It fed live crowdedness to a web app and a small physical dashboard, and learned to predict how busy each room would get, hour by hour, through the week.
A smart-speaker service that recommends classical music, musicals, plays, and concerts. I studied how people choose cultural events and how they talk to voice agents, then used what each person liked to drive the picks. It shipped on Google Actions as ClassicMate.
A study of how households actually watch TV. I pulled logs from TVs, remotes, and Bluetooth trackers, used chatbots to catch what people were doing in the moment, and bracketed it with interviews before and after. It came together as a set of design guidelines.
A look at how news quotes travel from press releases, and how people find news in the first place. It led to an interface concept for writing articles together, backed by official quotes and sources.
